Idiots of the Day

What kind of idiot throws a shoe at the President and thinks they will get away with it. Hell if you sneeze at the President they will probably bust out the stun gun on you. Here is part of an article I saw on newzjunky.com.
"The brother of the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George W Bush has said that the reporter has been beaten in custody.
Muntadar al-Zaidi has allegedly suffered a broken arm, broken ribs and internal bleeding, his older brother, Dargham, told the BBC.
Mr Zaidi threw his shoes at Mr Bush at a news conference, calling him "a dog".
A spokesperson for the Iraqi military says the journalist is in good health and said the allegations were untrue. Pretty hard to miss a broken arm, broken ribs, and internal bleeding. "
That's what you get for messing with the President Muntadar- al-Zaidi. Speaking of idiots what about this guy that was arrested for a DWI in Syracuse.
"Robert E. Streeter, 21, of Phelan, Calif., was stopped by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 3:43 a.m. Tuesday for driving his 2000 Dodge the wrong way in the northbound lane of Interstate 81 in the town of Ellisburg. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was 0.19 percent, deputies said. Aggravated DWI, which carries a harsher sentence upon conviction, is charged when the blood alcohol content is 0.18 percent or more. According to police documents, Mr. Streeter said he was driving from Oswego to Fort Drum. He is to appear Jan. 7 in Ellisburg Town Court."
So you are drunk in Syracuse feel the need to drive and just so happens you drive the wrong way? Wow I can't believe you got caught. Have fun in jail.

Toughest Schedule In History of the NFL

No big deal. Still AFC North champs and a first round bye and with a win over the Titans next week would give us the #1 seed for playoffs. That is with having the toughest schedule in NFL history. No big deal. Whoooo whooooo. Here is the story from http://www.steelers.com/.

The Steelers once again rallied late for a huge come from behind win, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 13-9 to clinch a playoff berth and win the AFC North Title. The Steelers also secured a first-round bye with the win.
The Steelers didn’t lead until there were just 50 seconds left in the game when Ben Roethlisberger hit Santonio Holmes for a four-yard touchdown, the only one of the day scored by either team. “One thing is consistent, is when we need plays, when we have to move the ball, we have,” said head coach Mike Tomlin. “Guys felt the urgency of the moment and didn’t want to let their teammates down. They played to win.”A late rally attempt by the Ravens was shut down when William Gay intercepted Joe Flacco in the end zone.

The Ravens got a spark early on when Yamon Figures fielded the opening kickoff at the goal line, but returned it to the 39 yard line. They wouldn’t go much further, though. The Steelers defense made their mark early, stopping Le’Ron McClain for a one-yard gain and Willis McGahee for no gain. On third down Joe Flacco’s pass to McGahee was incomplete and it was a quick three-and-out.

The Steelers got the ball deep in their own territory at the seven-yard line, where Roethlisberger scrambled for nine yards to the 16-yard line to give them some breathing room. Willie Parker’s two-yard gain for a first down was negated when the Steelers were called for a delay of game. Parker got it right back with a five-yard gain, to give the Steelers third-and-one. Roethlisberger went to the air for the first time and found Hines Ward for an eight-yard gain. Roethlisberger went right back to Ward for four yards, but Nate Washington couldn’t pull one in on the right sideline. The crowd noise got to the Steelers again when Willie Colon was called for a false start as time was running off the play clock. On third-and-11 Roethlisberger connected with Heath Miller, but he came up short of the first down when he was stopped for only a six-yard gain.McClain got the nod on the ground for the Ravens and responded with four and seven-yard carries. Flacco took it himself for a five-yard gain to give the Ravens a first down. The defense then shut the door, holding McClain to just three yards on three carries and forcing a punt.

Field position continued to not work in the Steelers favor as they got the punt at the seven-yard line and were backed up to the four when Mewelde Moore was called for a personal foul after calling for a fair catch and then throwing a block. Moore rattled off two five-yard carries and added a four-yard run off right end. But on third-and-six Holmes couldn’t hold on to what would have been a first down reception. In what everyone expected to be a defensive battle, it was the Steelers who would come up with the first big play of the game. On second-and-10 Flacco looked for Marcus Smith, but Ike Taylor tipped the pass and Ryan Clark came up with a leaping interception at the Steelers 33-yard line.

Going to work with their best field position of the day the offense got a spark from Washington when he pulled in a big third down reception and broke away from the defender to get the first down on an 18-yard gain. But they wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the turnover when Ray Lewis came on the blitz, sacking Roethlisberger for an eight-yard loss to force a punt.
Jim Leonhard fielded Mitch Berger’s 38-yard punt at the 11-yard line, hesitating before picking up the ball, but when he did broke loose for a 46-yard return to the Steelers 43-yard line. Flacco got the Ravens in scoring position with a 24-yard completion to Todd Heap at the 16-yard line. The Ravens were able to get to the 10-yard line, but the Steelers stopped them on third down. The Ravens had to settle for a 28-yard Matt Stover field goal for a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Roethlisberger completed a seven-yard pass to Sean McHugh and Parker went off right tackle for two yards to set up a tough third-and-one. Gary Russell surged up the middle for one-yard, and while the Ravens challenged the spot of the ball, it was upheld. Parker went off left end for four yards and Roethlisberger scrambled for a seven-yard gain for the first down. Roethlisberger took it to the air and hit Ward for a 21-yard gain. A holding call backed the Steelers up, but Washington came up with a key nine-yard reception. On third down Roethlisberger hit Miller for 17 yards to the Ravens 16-yard line. The Steelers got to the 12-yard line on a four-yard reception by Parker, but were stopped on third down. Jeff Reed tied the game at 3-3 when he hit a 31-yard field goal with 5:48 remaining in the half.

McClain got a workout with three consecutive runs for a combined 20 yards. Flacco then went to the air avoiding pressure and hitting Mark Clayton for 17 yards, following it with a 12-yard completion to Lorenzo Neal and nine-yarder to Derrick Mason to the 11-yard line. One again, though, the defense stepped up and Stover had to come on for a 26-yard field goal for a 6-3 lead at the half.

The Steelers got the ball to start the second half, but went a quick three and out. The Ravens wouldn’t go anywhere either, as Aaron Smith sacked Flacco for an 11-yard loss. Defense continued to be the story of the game on both sides, as they quickly exchanged possessions again.

Roethlisberger and the offense took over at their own one-yard line and went to the air to get out of the hole. Roethlisberger hit Holmes for a nine-yard gain, but he fumbled when hit and Ed Reed recovered for the Ravens at 21-yard line and returned it five yards. The Steelers were able to dodge a bullet though, holding the Ravens to 28-yard field goal by Stover to extend the lead to 9-3.

The Steelers got a huge break when Holmes fumbled a punt return, but Keyaron Fox recovered at their own 49-yard line and returned it 18 yards to the Ravens 33-yard line. On first down Roethlisberger scrambled for six yards and Moore added a three yard run. But on third-and-one, Roethlisberger was sacked Terrell Suggs, fumbled and Brandon McKinney recovered.

Once again, the defense came through, holding McClain and McGahee to three yards each and then Lawrence Timmons breaking up a third down pass attempt to Mason.

The offense got clicking when Parker went off left tackle for 10 yards and Roethlisberger hit Ward for a 30-yard gain. He went back to Ward on third down and he responded with a sliding catch for eight yards at the 15-yard line. Roethlisberger threw behind McHugh then hit Miller for three yards. Roethlisberger and Holmes couldn’t connect in the end zone on third down, but Reed closed the gap to 9-6 with a 30-yard field goal.

The Ravens offense came up with some big plays on their next drive, with a 19-yard completion to Clayton and 11-yarder to Mason. But the biggest play of the drive came from the Steelers defense when Timmons sacked Flacco, forcing a fumble. McGahee recovered for the Ravens, but it took them out of field goal range and forced a punt.
With 3:36 remaining on the clock the Steelers got to work from their own eight-yard line. Roethlisberger hit Ward for consecutive 13-yard completions out to the 34-yard line. Washington then got into the act with a 16-yard reception, followed by a nine-yard grab to the Ravens 41-yard line. On second and one Moore took it up the middle for three yards and the first down. Roethlisberger then hit Washington for 24 yards to the 14-yard line and hit Ward at the four-yard line. On third-and-four, Roethlisberger scrambled, and hit Holmes just across the goal line for the touchdown, putting the Steelers up 13-9 and securing the win.

Just a couple cartoons of the idiot I thought you Giants fan's would enjoy.

Steelers beat the Cowgirls and man am I happy. If the Steelers would have lost I would of never heard the end of it from all the local Cowgirl fan's, including my roomate. Now that the Steelers won all is quiet. Happy belated birthday to my cousin Chris turning the big 30. Went up there Saturday and drank alot. Also Congrats to Dr. Race for graduating school and being a Dr. Good thing you have that going for you because you would make a shitty ass deer guide. I mean hell Ihave shot as many deer as you this year. Well back to work. Peace.

UNC=09 Champs

DETROIT -- North Carolina coach Roy Williams walked out of a news conference smiling after an impressive performance at the site of the 2009 Final Four.
Fast Facts
• The Tar Heels cruised to 8-0, with all wins coming by at least 15 points. UNC has now scored at least 98 points in each of its last five games.
• Tyler Hansbrough led UNC with 25 points and notched his 36th career double-double. Hansbrough also passed Virginia's Buzzy Wilkinson to become the ACC's 12th all-time leading scorer.
• UNC's 98 points are the most by a Michigan State opponent since Gonzaga's 109 points in a 3OT win over MSU in November of 2005.
• Raymar Morgan led MSU with 21 points, his fourth 20-point game of the season. The Spartans fell to 10-1 in Morgan's career when he drop 20-plus points.
-- ESPN research
"See you in April," someone said.
"I'll be back and I hope my team is with me," Williams replied.
The way the top-ranked Tar Heels played in a 98-63 rout of Michigan State (No. 12 ESPN/USA Today, No. 13 AP), they seem destined for a return trip to Ford Field.
Tyler Hansbrough scored the first basket of both halves and finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds, Wayne Ellington scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half and Ty Lawson had 17 points, eight assists and seven steals.
Katz: Heels enjoy Field trip No. 1 UNC went to Detroit for a site survey of the Final Four venue, and the Heels got a feel for the Ford Field surroundings for what likely will be their return trip in April, writes Andy Katz. Column
The Tar Heels (8-0) won their first seven games by an average of 30 points and surpassed that clip. They took control with an 11-3 run late in the first half, led by 14 at halftime, then built a 30-plus cushion before coasting.
The Spartans (4-2) started the season ranked sixth, but lost a lot of luster with an 18-point loss to Maryland last week and looked helpless in their fourth game in a week.
"The blame goes on me for the scheduling," coach Tom Izzo said. "We were dead."
Michigan State scored in the final seconds, narrowly avoiding the most-lopsided defeat of Izzo's career. Iowa beat Michigan State by 36 in 1996 during Izzo's first season.
"You didn't see our real team tonight, but our real team might have lost by 20," Izzo said. "They're definitely one of the best teams I've seen in my 25 years at Michigan State."
Climbing The Charts
Tyler Hansbrough continues to climb all-time lists as he moved past Alonzo Mourning into sixth place on the all-time free throws made list in the win over Michigan State.
Michigan State's Raymar Morgan and Chris Allen looked like they belonged on the same court with the Tar Heels, scoring 21 and 16 points respectively, but the rest of their teammates appeared overmatched.
North Carolina -- the first unanimous preseason No. 1 team in The Associated Press poll -- was simply too talented, quick, strong and deep.
The Tar Heels didn't play any of their starters 30 minutes, showing mercy in a game that could've been more of a blowout.
"We got embarrassed," said Michigan State point guard Kalin Lucas, who was 2-of-10 for six points.
The NFL venue was configured for about 70,000 seats and perhaps one-third of them were filled with fans, creating a scene that was as lackluster as the game. The announced attendance was 25,267.
Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars and one of his key players, former Tar Heel Rasheed Wallace, were among the faces in the crowd.
Hansbrough played for just the fourth time in eight games, but the national player of the year looked sharp in 27 minutes.
"I knew he was going to play," Lawson said. "He's never going to sit out of a big game."
The 6-foot-9 forward missed the Tar Heels' first two games with a stress reaction in his right shin, didn't play against Chaminade in the Maui Invitation and sat out Sunday's game against UNC-Asheville for precautionary reasons.
Those are the only games the senior has missed in his career.
"The problem we've been concerned the last two games has been his ankle, not his shin," Williams said. "That's been the factor in playing him or not playing him."
Hansbrough and the Tar Heels are now off until Dec. 13, when they host Oral Roberts
"I'm thankful we have a big break," he said. "I can take time off."
Michigan State was without its top frontcourt player, Goran Suton, and will miss him for at least two more weeks because he's scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on his sprained left knee Thursday.
"It's been a nightmare for us," Izzo said.

Lazy Saturday

So I am sick as hell and have pretty much not left my recliner. I have played a bunch of video games and watched some boring blow out college football games. I even tried to do a little online Christmas shopping and ended up not buying a damn thing. All in all a pretty lame day. Since I don't have insurance because my subcontractors screwed me over I can not go see a doctor to get unsick so I will probably stay sick for weeks and get everyone around me sick as well. Sorry in advance if you get what I have. Movie and sleep time. PS just in case you didn't see the headline Plaxico Burress the dumbest man on earth "accidentally" was shot in the thigh and will be done for awhile. Go Steelers.

Made It Through The 4th

Well I made it through the 4th of July and my vacation. Hopefully you all made . This is going to be a quick post because I think I should be dead. Big thanks to Houmiel campgrounds for always keeping it real and having one hell of a party. Beer was cold, food was amazing as always. Also big thanks to my liver for holding up and always being there for me. Also big thanks to god. Being on the St. Lawrence celebrating our independence is amazing. I couldn't think of a better place to be. If you haven't spent the 4th on the river you need to once before you die. Alright good stuff. I'll try and post more once I got back to work and have time. Bye for now.

Long Time No Post

Quick update i guess on my not being able to make any posts. First of all it's summer and I try not to be near the computer let alone on this to make posts all the time. When i'm at work I have been way to caught up in playing www.addictinggames.com. It's softball season, been on vacation, been golfing a lot, couple of weddings, been at the bar, and really the only reason I am making a post is because I am bored because my x box died again. For anyone that cares team Doug's Tavern is 9-2. Pirates still suck. Kegerator is delicious. Doug's Tavern is nice in the summer. Celtics won the NBA title I've heard.(Fuck the NBA) The Man, The Myth, The legend has a girlfriend. (A real one not one that deflates) I still have a pet rabbit and a ton of fish. Tommy's getting married. The world is still fucked up with murder's, rapes, robberies, and everything else so no point in even watching the news. Let's all say a quick prayer to hope that Jake Houmiel made it through day one of being a dirty ole construction worker. (No offense to all you construction workers but come on you all know you are dirty men and frankly I'm jealous i can't have as much fun as you do at work) If anyone has pictures of Jake at his first day of work, I will pay money to see them. Peace, Fleece, and Hollis Mason Hair Grease.

Crazy Weather

So yesterday was April 30th and we had a baseball game in lovely Hammond, NY. All of a sudden it started snowing, sleeting, hailing, you name it, it did it. We did end up winning but I have a cold and am still freezing thinking about how damn cold it was. It was so cold that i couldn't even write when keeping the books. I guess I survived it but what is going on with this crazy weather. Well better get back to work. PEACE.

Sick Of Reading The News

I don't know about you guys but I am getting sick and tired of reading the news. Everyday headlines read, Gas Prices Going Up Again, Hillary and Obama fight, Teacher get's with student, Celebrity breaks the law gets probation, Adult with child, Person Murdered, blah blah blah..., I mean hell there was a story that broke today about Karl Malone getting a 13 year old pregnant and just telling his son who is an NFL player a couple years ago that he was his kid. Seriously this is one reason I do not buy the newspaper. Sick of reading these articles. Oh well nothing I can do about it. There I feel a little better now, thanks for letting me vent. Peace.

Oh Roger

Well Roger Clemens makes the news again. HOF career looking more and more like it's not going to happened. Hell of a pitcher but a hell of an idiot. Apparently when he was 28 or so he had relations with a 15 year old. The thought of it makes me sick so i'll post the story and leave it at that.

"Barricaded behind tightly drawn blinds at her Nashville home Monday, country singer Mindy McCready confirmed a long-term affair with embattled pitcher Roger Clemens.
"I cannot refute anything in the story," a tearful but resolute McCready told the Daily News, which broke the story at midnight Sunday.
The News reported that the two met in a Florida karaoke bar when McCready was a 15-year-old aspiring singer and Clemens was a 28-year-old ace for the Red Sox and a married father of two.
"Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time," McCready said, reading from a prepared statement. "He's a kind and caring man. He's also a legendary athlete. The central topic in the debate, however, regards his professional life, not his personal life.
"There are legal matters working their way through the system that have nothing to do with me. From my point of view, that is where the focus should remain."
After the teenage McCready met Clemens at a Fort Myers bar called The Hired Hand, she returned with the Rocket to his hotel room, but there was no sex that night, sources told The News.
It wasn't until later, after McCready had moved to Nashville and become a country singing star, that the relationship turned intimate.
Clemens is under FBI investigation for perjury after denying, under oath, accusations by his former personal trainer Brian McNamee that the seven-time Cy Young Award winner used performance-enhancing drugs.
The Rocket filed a defamation suit against McNamee on Jan. 6. McNamee's lawyer Richard Emery said revelations of the affair would have a big impact on that case because they influence Clemens' claim that his reputation was damaged.
"If the case heads to trial and is not dismissed, as we feel it should be, we will be calling [McCready] as a witness," Emery said.
"The point is whether he was damaged by the allegations that he used steroids - he claims he was hurt. But if there are other women - and there's not just one case, but many - and he holds himself out as a family man and an American paradigm, it's relevant.
"None of this would have been revealed but for his lawsuit and sanctimonious testimony before Congress."
In a statement Monday, Clemens' lawyer Rusty Hardin confirmed McCready was a longtime friend of Clemens and his family, but said the relationship was not sexual..."(http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/04/28/2008-04-28_mindy_mccready_weeps_as_she_confirms_aff.html)

Seriously Still Alive

If there is anyone out there that is bored and just trying to kill sometime and decided to check this either on a daily or weekly basis i apologize for the lack of posts. Between fantasy baseball, the bar scene, coaching, and actually being busy at work I haven't had a lot of time to post. I will make it up to you though don't you worry. Amongst my lack of posts and bar scene I did get a halfway decent to kind of crappy quality video of the Mayor Morley jamming some spoons. So check it out and I will try and find something good to post about if you any suggestions or topic's let me know. PEACE.

Bored Playing With MYSPACE

I know I have not made a post in awhile and this one is going to be disappointing. It is early in the morning and I am playing around with my MYSPACE account and just needed a place to post a couple of pictures. So for your viewing pleasure here are some random pictures.

Pirates Update

Just in case you haven't been paying any attention to the Pittsburgh Pirates which I'm sure several of you have not and probably never will, but they are 6-6. They got swept by the Cubs then swept the Reds. One game that they should not have lost was game 2 vs the cubs they were tied going into the bottom of the 9Th. Pirates had a guy on 1st and 3rd with 1 out, somehow the signals got mixed or somebody didn't do what they were supposed to and a bad bunt turned into an out and no run and the Pirates lost in extra innings. They have an up and coming series in Los Angeles which sucks because the game doesn't start until 10:10 here. Pretty sure I've snagged some tickets to a Met's Pirates game which me and the Doc are going to attend if all works out. BOO-YA. Plus Bay looks good so far, McLouth and Doumit are a huge surprise and are looking good so far also. All in all if we can finish close to .500 or not finish last in the NL or maybe even the division that would be sweet. Only time will tell.

Yeah Yeah Yeah

I know it has been awhile since I have made a post but I have some good reason's (excuses). First of all I was suffering depression after watching my Tarheels play like crap and lose to Kansas. I hate you Kansas. (Still a sensitive subject) Also I was sick for about a week with some terrible stomach pain thing. According to webmd though I will live. (God I hope Web MD is accurate) We did get a new keg a couple of weeks ago so that also was above making posts. Also making the posts more difficult to come by was the amount of work (and fantasy baseball) I have had. Also I bought MLB.TV so I have excess to every live MLB game well of course besides the NY team's because of blackout reason's. There also goes a couple more hours a day. Plus believe it or not I have a couple TV shows I watch every week, and I have some kind of a life, and I sleep. So it breaks down to my pure laziness and nothing else. Yes I know this is a weak post but I am building up some steam and time to search for some kind of news or something else interesting besides my life. No crazy stories or funny stories that I can think of off the top of my head that happened to me so I will try and find something worth on the net. On a side note Dr. Crackmeupmakemefeelohsogood will be home this weekend and that is very, very exciting to have him back up for a good drunken time. (assuming he still drinks because he is training like he is trying to make the Olympics in 2012) The man, the myth, the legend did go for a run the other day and was not happy with his decision. This made me laugh because I sadly enough would have been in way worst shape then he was. Some people are made to be in shape and run and all that good stuff, and well some are made to just be kind of chunky and drink beer. I am in the second group so be it. Peace UP A-Town Down.

Baseball Started

The lack of posts is mainly due to the opening day of baseball and me fighting with MLB.TV. I bought the $120 package so i could watch 6 games at once and just pretty much be the man and it is junk. I can't get it to work on my Vista laptop, and nobody seems know what the deal is and nobody can seem to get me up and working. Will they refund me because I can't get it to work, nope not yet. I mean the idea and the concept sounds awesome but to not have it work sucks. A couple of other people have been able to get it up and working so maybe it's me. They recommended getting an update on the video driver. Did that still did not work. So if anyone that reads this has any clue on how to help me that would be great. If not well then you could be a MLB.TV support person.

Lottery Winner Goes Back To Work

This guy from Wales won 2.7 million dollars in the lottery and decided to go back to work at McDonald's. Why? Because it says it makes him happy. He said he loves to work and just loves being there and could only do so much relaxing. He makes more money on interest than he does working at McDonald's. I tell you what if i didn't have to work ever again I would find stuff to do to keep me occupied instead of having to go and work. Either I need to apply to work at McDonald's, find a job that i actually like, or win the lottery. I think the odds are better to get a job at McDonald's. Hell I could super size someones meal and flip some burgers. I bet I could find a way to spend all those millions as well. Hell I could plan my day out for you if I didn't have to work and be a millionaire. Wake up feed the fish, dogs, self and hit the golf course. After golfing all day get some food and go down to my bar in my basement grab a draft beer and turn on the big screen TV, fire up the Xbox 360 and play some video games. When some friends or whoever get there and shoot some pool and continue to drink, maybe play some darts or more video games. Party hard have fun and eventually pass out. Now tell me that's not the life. If i ever win the lottery you might want to look me up and be my friend. Excuse me sir could i get a #2 super sized, hey aren't you that guy that won like 3 million dollars? Ding fries are done.

Ouch

Sorry to have a delay in posts here guys but really i can explain. Easter Sunday I was busy doing the family thing and then I had to help the Mayor of Heuvelton finish up our fantasy baseball stuff for the start of the season. (thanks Boston and Oakland for having to play in Tokyo teasing us with opening day crap to only really have opening day a week later) Then I was going to explain to you how awesome my Easter dinner was but I didn't want to rub it in. Then Monday well nothing exciting went on Monday that I can think of. Then Tuesday was a painful night. I was at work just like any other Tuesday blue day when my old man called and said "hey want to go to the 'Cuse game tonight", naturally how can you say no. So my old man, myself, and a couple of his work buddies all made the trip to the 'Cuse. For all of you that watched the game know the what I mean by the headline ouch. For those of you that did not catch the game you are lucky because it was painful. I will give you a brief hopefully painless recap of the game. The Cuse played an AWESOME first half with a lead of 19 i believe at the half. Second half came out kind of flat but still was in control of the game. Once the 11 minute mark hit and the UMASS team starting to wear down the Orange thing's got ugly. By ugly i mean FUGLY. Slowly but surley UMASS crept back into the game. Less than a minute to go Cuse up 1 inbounding the ball turn it over UMASS easy layup and their first lead of the game. (Pitt game allover again???) Cuse get the ball in Green goes to the rack gets swatted UMASS hits foul shots Cuse did not, Game Over thanks for playing drive home safe. I have never seen 20,000+ fan's do so much crying, and just have that look of are you kidding me right now. I mean i could not believe that happened. Blew such a huge lead, and by huge we almost left 5 minutes into the half because the Cuse was up so much and we thought they were going to just pound them, move on to MSG and play Florida. Not so much. Now if UNC loses tonight I will cry and have nobody or nothing to root for until the Pirates start their season vs Atlanta Monday. My team is still in playoff contentions and it is exciting for me. Every year is a new beginning. Back to the Cuse game, not only did they lose but on the way home we hit some fluke snow storm and had to travel 30 mph all the way home. Needless to say it was not a pleasant ride home 2 am and sleepy eye's i finally make it home and sleep the night away. Good fight good night.

Happy Easter

Well the Title pretty much explains it all. Happy Easter everybody. I tried to fast(not sure about the spelling) last night and had no such luck.

Thirsty Thursday

With March Madness going on I left work and went and hung out with the Mayor of Heuvelton had a couple beers, talked a little baseball, and watched some College Basketball, and had another beer or 3. Then we went to Club DT and had another couple beers. 6 o clock came around and he had to go upstairs for indoor horseshoe league. I had never been apart of it but wanted to check it out see what all the loud thumping was about above the bar on Thursdays. As soon as i walk in i see some make shift ladder i guess which involved about 8 guys and two ladders. One ladder was inserted 3 quarters the way up holding another ladder that was straight up. Some little guy climbed it so they could change the light bulbs on horseshoe pit 4 i think it was. It was something you would see on the Internet like kids don't try this at home, or you might be a redneck if. I was tempted to take a picture with my cell so i could show you guys but i think i was the only one with a cell phone let alone a cellphone that takes pictures and i didn't want to amaze the simple folk and have to explain it and take the chance of them wanting to touch it or use it. So as i sit at the bar above talking with The Mayor trying to embrace what is going on around me all I heard was the metal on metal of the horseshoe consistently hitting the pole or whatever you call it. These guys were all business. Apparently the week before some guy had 12 ringers in 16 throws. I would be lucky to probably get 1 ringer in 16 throws. I was asked to play and before they could even get the question out i had already refused. I don't know why but that group of guys made me feel more uncomfortable then i have felt in a long time possibly ever. I mean people were arguing over 6 dollars. Asking for proper change when ordering a soda. It was like ok this is what the carnies do during the winter. The beer started kicking in so i ventured to the bathroom. It was a nasty looking toilet with a sign that says something like make sure to flush and make sure to piss in the toilet not the floor. Seriously. Naturally the handle on the toilet was broke and the lid was off the top of the toilet so in order to flush it you had to pull it manually. Let's just say sorry guys i did not flush. The sink was a make shift sink with a hose and like a plastic tub type thing i don't know. I really wish i was able to take some pictures so you could get a visual of this place. If i wasn't so scared and i could play horseshoes it might be a pretty good time. After I witnessed this event for an hour it was time to take off and go play some pool. I don't know if it was the perfect amount of beer, the strength and bar room knowledge i obtained from being there, or just a fluke, but i shot the best pool i have ever shot i think in my life. Maybe next Thirsty Thursday I will do the same routine and see if it was a fluke or if maybe, just maybe being around horseshoe league can bring the best pool player out of me. Let's take a quick look at our weather shall we. Hey Ollie what's the weather looking like today? "IT'S GON' RAIN!!" Thanks Ollie. Well this is beernuts signing out, stay classy upstate NY. Let's now go to our Asian Correspondent Tricia Takanawa...

Congrats To Section X

Just want to give a BIG congratulations to all the section X team's on a successful year and to all the team's that represented us in the final four. Class A Malone girls won the State Championship, Hammond Girls won the Class D State Championship for the second year, and Chateaugay boys won the Class D boy's State Championship and it was the first boys state championship ever in basketball. All in all Section X has been able to win basketball, soccer and baseball state championships over the last couple of years. I believe it was Parishville Hopinkton in 2002 in baseball, Colton-Pierpont last year in soccer and of course Chateaugay in basketball. Our team's are becoming more and more competitive in the state which is finally good to see. I don't know if it has to do with this generation of athletes up here or if it has to due with the realigning of stuff in the state. Either way good for Section X and congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, and communities for their success.

Still Alive No Big Deal

Thanks for everyone who was concerned as to if i was alive still or not. Been occupied with some other things and haven't found the time to post I'm sorry. With my MLB2K8 addiction taking up most of the free time, work has been pretty hectic the last week or so, and with coaching baseball and basketball doesn't leave a ton of extra time to just relax and post. I did survive St. Patricks Day hope everyone else did. I also hope everyone was to at least one good drunk day whether it be during the weekend before or on the Monday. Also I have been busy helping to set up our big fantasy draft that is going on this Saturday at Club DT in central Heuvelton NY, AND yes I know it sounds like I live a crazy life when actually I do not, I am helping to plan a softball team for the up and coming season. If interested please let me know especially if you are a good pitcher. Alright bye for now.

Bench Clearing Brawl

In my fantasy baseball league US Baseball Fans one of a million leagues I am in (yes I am the Fantasy King) I made a post about beaming Billy Crystal and having a bench clearing brawl to make spring training more interesting. This was two days ago. Well apparently there is a Yankee or Devilray that is in our league and decided to do it before Billy Crystals major league debut and finale. Last night Yankees Shelley (who names there son Shelley?) Duncan slid cleats up into Tampa Bay's Akinori Iwamuri don't ask me how to say that. This altercation resulted in two players and two bench coaches being ejected. It was a pretty decent hit and looks even worst in slow motion and the pictures. Personally I like the hustle and dedication these guys are showing in spring training, it really gives the 157 people in the stands there money's worth. I mean some of these guys have something to prove and this is there chance to make the show. If this Iwamuri guy isn't a lock to be in and starts a bench clearing brawl because he can't take a little cleat from Duncan then this could be is ticket back to the minors. I just feel bad for the poor kid that went there to watch Iwamuri and and Duncan play and try to get there autographs and boom brawl and ejection no autographs. Poor kids. Well it's thirsty Thursday and almost St. Patty's Day enjoy.

Dirty Girls

This world just never can be predicted. Article after article i read or hear on the news always shocks me. Of course the obvious with Eliot Spitzer. The dude is a NYS Governer he shouldn't have to pay $80,000 in money to have sex with some prostitute. I mean he should just pull out the yeah I'm the Governor of NY I'm kind of a big deal. Some kind of non prostitute women you would think would have fun with him for free. What do I know. Speaking of dirty girls according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1 in 4 girls have STD's. 1 in 4. That is crazy. I am glad I am not a teenager anymore. Do these kids not learn how to use a condom in health class? Just to throw some numbers at you the article says "More than one in four teenage girls is infected with common sexually transmitted diseases, federal researchers reported Tuesday. Almost half of black teens were infected." "Young women ages 14 to 19 in "alarming" numbers are contracting human papilloma virus, chlamydia, genital herpes and trichomoniasis, a common parasite, said Dr. Sara Forhan, a researcher at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who led the study team." "An estimated 3.2 million have one or more of those four sexually transmitted diseases, or STDs." So kids watch out for teenage women these days or you might have yourself an extra itch or bump or even worst. As Rob Dydrek found out last night it's tough sometimes to find yourself a nice girl and not a dirty girl.

MLB2K8 Review

I bought MLB2K8 for the 360 Saturday and just thought I would give my opinion on it. A couple of changes have helped make the game both more challenging and more realistic. The swing stick is still the game's way to hit. Simply press down to step and up, left or right to hit. A little more fine tuned then 2k7 because the Hit Stick allows you to control if you want to go opposite field or pull it. It is also a little harder to time it then it was in 2k7 but all in all I think it's good. Another new feature is how you pitch. I started with just an exhibition game and wanted to play around and figure it out on my own. After giving up about 6 home runs to the braves in the first inning I decided I have no idea how to pitch. It shows you the motion of how you have to move the right analog stick but I needed to look at the tips to figure out the rest. I recommend you do this as well unless you catch me on Live then don't worry about it just keep coming with the Meatball. I like in the one player game from the pitchers view. The catcher calls the pitch he wants and also picks a spot to throw it to. All in all i am very impressed with the new pitching. When playing in the field to simply throw the ball has changed as well. Instead of Pressing the button to throw to the base you have to use the right stick to throw. Simply press right on it to 1st up 2nd, left 3rd, and down to home. You also have a power meter so if you throw to hard it will be a bad throw and can affect your game. Also I like this new feature. The one thing I hate is when playing the Home Run Derby you have to watch every other person in it. We were doing a Franchise and wanted to do the Derby but didn't want to watch every other person in order for us to be able to go. How hard is it to be able to simulate that? That is the one thing I am not happy with. I love the manager mode in the Franchise though so instead of just simulating you can have control on your win or lose. Most the time though I lose in heartbreaking walk-offs. Damn you Mets. I started off with the Pirates made a couple trades thought I had a decent team after starting off 2-15 and being in deep shit I quit the Pirates got hired at the Cardinals and put together an awesome pitching staff. After the all star break I saw the Braves job opened up so I jumped allover that. Made a trade or two and won the league, and am now in the World Series vs the Mariners. Started off with a lead last night in Game 1 but the game froze so we are going to reschedule it for tonight. My prediction Braves 17 Mariners 8. All in all i recommend this game to anyone who loves the 2k series baseball games. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Still Alive

Yes just in case anyone cares I am still alive. Wow did we get a winter storm. We got over a foot of snow and 5-7 inches of sleet. It took hours to dig out and clear off cars. On top of all that crap coming down there was a 30mph wind to blow everything around. Thank god we did not lose power or anything. Sidewalks are still unwalkable in Canton. If that wasn't wild enough apparently it was thundering and lightning during this storm. I wish I had some pictures of this mess more so I could look at it in the middle of summer and be thankful of the nice summer weather. What's even more strange is a couple days before this massive storm it was almost 60. I am sure anyone that reads this anyways went through the same storm so hopefully you made it through it as well. Today is damn cold at -5. I can't wait for warm weather it seems so far away but hopefully we are within a week or so from it. Just so we can all think warm enjoy the sweet picture of the St. Lawrence River from good ole Lisbon Beach and Campground.

And Another Thing...

I know people are checking this site out because the counter keeps going up so let's make this interesting give me some feed back some comments something to work with. Make fun of my post, make fun of Polish people, i don't care whatever. Looking to make the site more fun and interactive so lets hear what you have to say. If not then the hell with it. PS Win at Michigan helps. Total Domination. Peace.

Winter Storm

Well we got another winter storm on this lovely March and i don't think winter will ever end. We got a bunch of ice which trapped me into the apartment today. You would of thought i could of made an awesome and better post but you were wrong. That's what you get for having your expectations about me high up there. Me and the Man The Myth The Legend are working on our NASCAR season and Pocono is a bit#$. Although The Polish Sensation claims it is the best Nascar race to go to ever even though i think it's the only one he has been to. Besides the storm and being trapped in the apartment working from home i had A TON of crap to do and got most of it done. Not that you care just a little proud of myself that's all. I want MLB2k8 in the worst way just need to get to Wal*Fart and return a game to get a game. So if any of you have it you better practice up because once i get it your done. By the way last night we had the winter sports award banquet and i ripped it up with a stellar speech. Let's see what else is going on, Favre still retired, apparently Sapp retired, and they caught the scumbag that raped a women and beat her. I hope he gets raped and made someones love toy in prison. Well back to the Nascar Season we got the poll at Michigan we are 20th in points and we have work to do son. Cuse is on tonight they need a win so tune into that game and also season premier of Ghost Hunters is on so that's sweet, not that GHI crap the real deal. I know you don't care but i rambled on for a decently boring post. If you have anything better to talk about leave a comment and i would love to entertain you. Bye for now.

Favre

Now that I got the complaining out of my system let's talk about the biggest news story. Brett Favre #4 finally retires. After having such an awesome season last year he is calling it the end. Very interesting and you know Aaron Rogers is smiling ear to ear. He only has HUGE shoes to fill no big deal. If he can come up and silence the critics they will forget about Favre in no time. He doesn't step up and the Packers suck this year not good the backup of so many years. When Favre was hurt for a little bit this season Rogers came in and did a good job i think he will be good as long as people give him a little bit of time to adjust to his new role. I guess only time will tell. I am dissapointed i was looking forwared to seeing #4 back out on the field but i guess every good thing has to end at some point. I think i am mentally tired though so i will end the Favre discussion.

My boy Big Ben signed a HUGE deal. 8 years 102 million biggest deal in Steelers history which is impressive with all of the big stars and success the Steelers have had. You the man now let's get some more weopons on O and win us another Super Bowl.

Moss signs with the Pats for 3 more years, hopefully he turns into the old pouty Moss and the Patriots sucks. I don't see that happening and for the next 3 years i think i am going to be mentally tired while watching the Pats win 3 straight. Giants got lucky to beat them this year, no way in hell that is going to happened next year. Pats win the superbowl and lose 2 games in the regular season.

Let's see what else happened in sports Crosby is coming back for the first time tonight after getting hurt on January 18th good news for my boys. Bad news for my boys Hossa got hurt in his first game as a Penguin and is out a week. Soccer of if you want or think your cool and call it futbol team Liverpool turned down a $800 million dollar offer by Dubai International Capital's to buy the team. This team was bought last year for $431 million. Let's see one year's worth of work a $369 million profit hmmmm i would of pressed the sale button. What do i know i will never get to own a $800 million dollar soccer team or even an $800 soccer team. I mean this is a team battling for 4th place in their league. For $800 million i would sell the team and buy the first place team, or hell buy another team and sell it to make more money. If i had $800 million dollars (insert song if i had a million dollars while reading this, and sorry for that song being stuck in your head for the rest of the day) i'd buy a soccer team!? Hell no i'd buy alot of other stuff maybe even a website that I had to pay for instead of this free blog. Alright well it's been fun enjoy the song. Peace in the Northeast.

Blaaaaaaaaaah...

Yesterday it was pretty nice in the 50's and today there is a winter storm advisory. We are going to get ice and snow and all this lovely weather. On top of the awesome day I've had already(a ton of sarcasm) this is just fantastic news(more sarcasm). I have the winter awards banquet tonight which will also be an amazing time. All in all not really an awesome day going on here. Not that anyone cares I will stop complaining. If you see me please get me a beer ASAP. Thanks.

Winter Go Away

Everyone is sick the current temperature is -3 and it is going to be around -20 tonight. I'm not talking Celsius either. I guess it's just what you have to deal with while living in the arm pit of the world but it's all worth it once summer comes. Just in case anyone cares i still feel like shit but i am hoping maybe a couple miller lites can fix me up. A good thing is the Barclay Aubertine voting is done and over with so i know longer have to listen to that crap. In case anyone cares Aubertine won. Clemens is still in deep trouble for not telling the truth. I saw an article that said $4 gas coming soon, great. Other than that i don't really have any interesting non depressing news for you. Lunch is coming up soon for me that's a plus. Yesterday while being sick working from home i noticed how lame afternoon weekday TV really is. I mean there was nothing on. I must have watched Sportscenter 12 times. No breaking news. Price is right was on that wasn't anything to brag about. I wonder in order to be on that show if they make you act like an idiot. If i was called up there is no way i could jump around and act like these people do. No way. Eventually it got later and decent shows started to come about. One i started watching was pretty sweet. It was Texas Hold Em billiards or pool you might call it. It is definitely something i would like to play sometime just in case anyone is interested. Here is the format. The format used in the tournament is a modified version of the pool game nine-ball, that emulates texas hold 'em, a type of poker. Each of the four players carries chips like those used in poker. In each rack, the players wager a number of them. The winner of that particular rack collects the others' wagers. If a player's chips is less than wager, that player has to go "all in" which means all of that player's chips must be wagered. After every four racks, the wager rises. In later racks, the player with the least number of chips will have to wager all. If a player runs out of chips, he/she is eliminated from the match.
In most nine-ball tournaments, a players can miss a shot and (providing they do not foul while doing so) the incoming opponent must take whatever shot may be available. In the Texas Hold 'Em Billiards Championship, missing a shot awards ball-in-hand to the next player. This eliminates defensive play, but makes the game faster. What a great idea.

As i sit here and explain and talk about this awesome game i am interrupted by to WOW players arguing. WOW player 1, we are having some serious problems in our guild. Officers are just not doing there job and people are off doing there own thing. Communication is poor and it is a waste of time. Bla bla bla. WOW player 2 "Dude it's a game" Wow player 1 "it's more than a game dude and when people are doing there own thing bla bla bla bla yacka yacka bla then it becomes a problem." Wow Player 2 "yeah whatever dude" Are you kidding me. These guys need to walk away from the computer go out and try to get laid. One of them is cool and goes and plays occasionally when he is bored i guess. But this other dude is dedicated. WOW, work, sleep, sometimes eat. That's how he rolls. Your almost 30 put the video game away, eat your vegetables go out and try to get laid or at least socialize with real people in the real world. If your happy then whatever i guess. Maybe it is better guys like this aren't out having sex reproducing future wastes of space WOW addicts. Hmmmm thank you WOW for keep guys like this off the streets and making it so they are unable to reproduce more computer addicts. Anyways lunch time i'm out, Laidher.

Pirates 2008 Preview

"Guns N' Roses began working on a new album in the early '90s. It was to be called "Chinese Democracy." Every few years, rumors would float to the surface that a release date was imminent, but the record never materialized. Now, in 2008, after tons of personnel changes and failed comeback attempts, the band's discography still remains unchanged.
Around the same time Axl Rose was on top of the world, so were the Pittsburgh Pirates. But ever since their own tragic "spaghetti incident" -- with the Braves' Sid Bream stretching out like a wet noodle to score the winning run of Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS -- the Pirates also have been floundering. Since that game, the team has failed to reach .500 and is currently on its sixth manager.
What's Changed?
Key AdditionsManager John Russell
Key LossesManager Jim Tracy So why should Pirates fans think 2008 will be any different with John Russell at the helm than it was with Jim "Slash" Leyland or Lloyd "Buckethead" McClendon? Why should Pirates fans think that what is, for all intents and purposes, the same team that had the NL's worst record in 2007 will do any better? In short, why should Pirate fans expect "Chinese Democracy"?
A change in attitude in the clubhouse and from the front office is nice, but what the Pirates need to succeed is for Jason Bay to return to his 2005 form, for Adam LaRoche to rediscover the stroke he seems to have left behind in Atlanta, for pitchers like Ian Snell and Tom Gorzelanny to continue their steady progress, and for the rebuilt farm system to start producing some homegrown talent who can step in and contribute on an everyday basis.
General manager Neal Huntington has said all the team needs is a little patience. Funny, I think Axl Rose said that once ... and the wait continues ...
Ballpark: PNC Park is a pitcher's park, plain and simple, which is exactly what the team wanted when it designed the new stadium to replace Three Rivers. The change from artificial turf to grass helps to keep the staff ERA down, and a deeper left-field power alley gives pitchers room to make mistakes against right-handed hitters. Is it any wonder that the Pirates boast three lefties in their rotation? The most telling statistic is that according to the Park Factor numbers, PNC Park is incredibly low (ranked 26th) in home runs, despite the fact that only Fenway Park is smaller, and that there is scarcely any foul territory, which gives hitters extra chances when those swings that "just missed" end up drifting into the stands, rather than into fielder's gloves.

Does anybody remember a young rookie who went 8-2 with a 1.81 ERA back in 2005? Whatever happened to him? He had a rough 2006, although he finished strong. But whatever momentum he had built up disappeared quickly in 2007. He pitched only 89 innings before being diagnosed with elbow tendinitis, which probably accounts for his awful numbers (5.54 ERA, 1.73 WHIP). Still, we're not ready to give up on Zach Duke, and neither are the Pirates. He's back at full health and has been all but guaranteed a spot in the rotation by new skipper John Russell. At the same time, the pressure to be the team's ace is gone. All Duke has to do is focus on pitching. With his former minor league mentor Jeff Andrews now the Pirates' pitching coach, we think he'll be able to regain that 2005 comfort level.
Intriguing spring battle: It would make a terrific reality show: "Who Wants to Pitch for the Pirates?" We know Matt Capps is the closer, and lefties Damaso Marte and John Grabow are going to be the primary set-up men. But after that? Bring in a crazy mismatched cast of offseason waiver claims, a Rule 5 Draft selection, injury reclamation projects, an aging Japanese import, converted starters without a job, several veterans looking for one last shot at glory, and a bunch of young prospects, let them live together and compete for a major league job. Franquelis Osoria is as good a bet as anyone to emerge from this competition as the go-to right-hander, but unless he or somebody else really steps up, it could be another long season for the Pirates. Without a reliable bullpen, the starters will be asked to pitch deeper into games, and those extra innings could spell late-season swoons. Or conversely, Pittsburgh goes with whoever looks best and crosses its fingers that sixth-inning leads don't suddenly become seventh-inning deficits before they can get to Marte and Grabow.
Trainer's room: Another Pirate who can't seem to stay healthy is Ryan Doumit, who qualifies at both catcher and outfielder. He has some pop in his bat, but unfortunately, the time behind the plate has been unkind to his body. Hamstring problems, a sprained left wrist and a sprained right ankle severely limited his playing time in 2007. The Pirates were thinking about signing a veteran backstop to free up Doumit from his catching duties, which could be a good thing. While 10-15 home runs may not be what you look for from an everyday outfielder, it certainly would be nice from your catcher spot, and for this season anyway, you can play Doumit there, whether he does for Pittsburgh or not.
Chris Duffy's career path continues to be derailed by injuries. Center field appeared to be his last year, but a sprained ankle sidelined him in June. During his rehab, Duffy had shoulder surgery as well, to rid himself of the pain he'd had since 2005, which had made him afraid to even throw the ball back to the infield after catches. He won't be ready to go at full speed when pitchers and catchers report, and likely will start the season at Triple-A. If the Pirates do call him up to the club during the season, he's worth a look, especially if you need some speed. Of course, there may not be a job for him to come back to ...

...since either Nate McLouth or Nyjer Morgan may have center field locked up by then. Morgan has incredible speed and the ability to make stretching a single into a double look effortless. Plus, Nyjer made several spectacular catches in the field, although many times, had he made the proper read on the ball, such theatrics would not have been necessary. On the other side of the coin, McLouth may not be as fast, but he knows when and when not to run. McLouth stolen base success rate of 95.7 percent led the majors. Plus, Nate gives the team a little more pop -- he hit 13 home runs last season in only 329 at-bats. Because both players are left-handed hitters, eventually either one of the two likely will push the other out of the way. If neither lives up to the expectations, perhaps yet another lefty, Chris Duffy, will join this already crowded position. Although there may be an outright winner coming out of Bradenton, any little slump likely will see a changing of the guard, meaning this battle may rage on all season long, resulting in an unorthodox kind of platoon to be sure, but a platoon nevertheless.
Schedule Preview: Pittsburgh has an unusual June stretch where they play five consecutive series against American League teams. After visits to Baltimore and the White Sox, they return home to face Toronto, the Yankees and Tampa Bay. On the one hand, playing three teams who had 90 losses last season gives the team a chance to gain a lot of confidence. Plus, the two toughest series are at home, where at least one big bat will be taken out of the visiting lineup, giving the Pirates a fighting chance. I'd definitely pay attention to this section of the schedule. A few solid pitching performances in a row could have a long-lasting positive impact and point toward a successful rest of the season. Of course, should the team get roughed up and go 4-11 over this stretch, it could be your cue to cut bait on all Pirates before it's too late.
Fantasy Stud: Jason Bay's 2007 is going to cause a lot of owners to pass on the Pirates' best player. And they'd certainly have every right to be concerned. Paying top dollar for a .220 second-half isn't exactly going to win you many fantasy titles. He had some problems with his knees, which could account for the drop-off, but he should be at full strength for 2008. To be frank, a return to 30 home runs and 100-plus RBIs would be far less surprising than a repeat of last season's numbers. And apparently, the Pirates agree. If they had any doubt that Bay was poised to return to form, they would have jumped on one of the many trade offers they got for him during the winter meetings. They did not, and we think Bay will repay that confidence with another All-Star season.
Prospects to watch for 2008: Brian Bixler will be ready to take over at shortstop at some point during the 2008 season. The 2004 second-round draft pick likely will start the season at Triple-A, where he stole 28 bases last season, until the Pirates feel he's ready for the day-to-day grind at the major league level. And when they do, they'll likely send Jack Wilson packing to make room for him.
Steve Pearce started last season in Class A and climbed steadily up the ladder, eventually ending up in Pittsburgh in September after hitting 31 home runs during his rise to the big leagues. The team liked him enough to get rid of Josh Phelps, leaving Pearce as the probable backup for Adam LaRoche at first base. LaRoche's presence means Pearce won't see a whole lot of action, but with his ability to also play the outfield, he may get some opportunities to spell Xavier Nady or Jason Bay from time to time.

**Closer-in-waiting Prospects to watch for the future: Andrew McCutchen is the shining star of the Pirates organization, and is a five-tool center fielder. He struggled a bit in Double-A last year, but was still promoted to Triple-A, where he seemed to be more comfortable at the plate. Certainly with the logjam at center field, the Pirates can afford to give McCutchen a full season at Triple-A, but if none of the three candidates set themselves apart from the pack, we can easily see McCutcheon getting a shot in 2009.
The signing of Chris Gomez was probably made, in part, to give Neil Walker another year at Triple-A. Offensively, Walker is probably ready, but it has only been a year since he started the transition from catcher to third base, and he could probably use a little more time to get the defensive footwork down. There's an outside chance he might get called up sooner, but we think the Pirates will ride things out with Jose Bautista and start fresh with Walker next April.
Fearless prediction: Call me crazy, but I'm going to be optimistic. The Cubs topped the NL Central with only 85 wins last season. In 2006, the Cardinals won it with 83. I'm not crazy enough to think they can go from worst to first, but it's not unreasonable to think this team can't have some early season success, and build on the confidence they gain from it. Add in a influx of enthusiasm from Triple-A in the form of Brian Bixler, and would it be so unrealistic to see the Pirates within seven games of the division lead come September. I think Jason Bay has a monster year, and the team's appetite for destruction carries them to an 82-80 finish. "Chinese Democracy" isn't quite here yet, but it's not as far away as you'd think. Pirates Sign Pitcher

"Free-agent pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim signed a one-year, $850,000 deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday, four days after agreeing to contract terms.
The Pirates also designated infielder Ray Olmedo for assignment.
Kim, who is expected to join the team Monday, could earn up to $1 million in performance bonuses.
General manager Neal Huntington said the 29-year-old Kim will be used exclusively in relief. Last season, 22 of his 28 appearances with Colorado, Florida and Arizona were starts. He went 10-8 with a 6.08 ERA.
"He has been tough on right-handers when he pitched primarily as a reliever," Huntington said. "Kim adds an experienced option for us in our bullpen competition."
The Pirates have four bullpen openings, with only closer Matt Capps and left-handers John Grabow and Damaso Marte considered locks.
The Pirates hope to keep Olmedo if he clears waivers. Olmedo, a waiver claim last month from the Toronto Blue Jays, had been one of 13 infielders in camp." (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3262392)

Pirates needed another option for relief pitching and sounds like this guy is dominate as a reliever and struggles when he starts. They signed him only to be a reliever so as of now sounds like a good sign. We will see if it is or not soon.

Weekend Recap

I tell you what I am sick and tired of this Barclay Aubertine for State Senate. I don't give a crap anymore who Win's I hope Lisbon's Pat Green win's it. Barclay has spent probably more money then I will ever make bashing Aubertine. What does he stand for? I don't care who Win's but just stop with the damn commercials and the protesters on the corner asking you to beep if your going to vote for Aubertine. Maybe I am going to hell but i beep just to watch those idiots jump up and down or give you the thumbs up. I'm not voting for him, I'm not voting for anyone. Anyways to the weekend...

Nothing exciting to report Friday sat around played online poker watch TV.

Saturday was a good time. Me, The Man The Myth The Legend, and Akins Construction went to my work bowling tourney in the Arm pit of the world Gouverneur NY. Whoo whoo you might say but it was a damn good time. We started drinking before the tourney and when we got in there we kept going. We were at about a beer a frame rate for the 1st game. Tryed keeping that pace for the next two but were not able to keep that pace but still had a damn good pace. A guy I work with we will call him The Rockstar tryed to keep up. He quickly fell behind a beer then it turned into 4 beers pretty quick. The waitress then proceeded to call us alcoholics but thought we were funny. She also works at Jrecks we found out and almost lost her finger in the meat slicer, yes don't eat meat at the Gouverneur Jrecks. So The Man The Myth The Legend made fun of her finger brace she had to wear and she soon took it off after that. It was almost the end of the second game and we found out there was a light you could turn on to make the waitress come running over and bring us beer. Every time that light came on we had our $9 round there. Sweeeeet. Were having a good time bowling was OK I guess no idea how I did let alone are team but regardless it was a decent time and the beer was good. We then switched over to red bull and vodka thinking that was a good idea, which of course it was. Next thing you know were done bowling and it's buffet time. Akins Construction was able to get 4 trips to the buffet. Everyone else had multiple trips but somehow i messed it up and was only able to get 1. Awesome. After dinner the DJ started to play and The Man The Myth The Legend was now happy feet. Busting out moves only seen at the ARC ladies were kind of liking it. Then apparently the friends came over and apparently they weren't lovin it. Midnight came fast we didn't win any prizes and Happy Feet wasn't getting any action the bathroom so we decided to hit the dollar menu up and head on home. All in all a good night. I think we should have the first annual Beernutsworld bowling tourney. Let me know if you are interested I Guarantee a good time or your money back.

Sunday morning I wake up with an interesting text message. Apparently someone got a free bottle of wine on a wine tour. Sweet you say what is so cool and exciting about that? Well in order to get the free bottle of win streaking through the vineyard was required. I hope the wine was good because i guarantee you that was a sight to see. Hopefully it wasn't too cold if ya know what i mean dawg. The text i got. "I got completely naked yesterday and ran through the grape vines for a free bottle of wine." Classic. As sick as it might be i want to see pics of confirmation, and no fan's i will not post them on this site.

(On a side note I did bowl against a 16 year old kid that had a prefect game going through 8. He kicked my ass.)
